These strong diametrically magnetized cylinders are great for use with Hall Effect Sensors. The poles are located on the sides of the cylinders, so they will attract each other as shown in the bottom picture.

Please note: These disc magnets are DIAMETRICALLY magnetized, i.e. the magnetic field runs parallel to the diameter. This is an unusual magnetic direction for a disc magnet.
